Bone Foundation Program for Osteoporosis
The Bone Foundation Program is a specialised osteoporosis exercise program developed exclusively at Coordinated Fitness. It is unique, evidence-based, and designed to support people with osteoporosis and osteopenia to exercise safely, confidently, and effectively.
This program has been developed by our Director, Tanya Barnett, who has over 23 years of clinical experience, alongside Mikaela, who brings over 7 years of experience with a strong focus on bone health and women's health.
A Whole-Body, Individualised Approach to Bone Health
The Bone Foundation Program focuses on the whole body, not just bones in isolation. A key feature of this program is that pelvic floor strength, postural control, and movement quality are established before progressive loading is introduced. This ensures exercises are both safe and effective, particularly for those at risk of fracture.
Every participant receives a tailored program, designed around:
- Bone Mineral Density results
- Medical history and fracture risk
- Strength, balance, posture, and mobility
- Pelvic floor and core function
- Confidence and previous exercise experience
We take a full-picture approach when prescribing exercise to assist improvements in Bone Mineral Density, ensuring that loading strategies are appropriate, progressive, and individualised.
